Between States explores the political, social and psychological dilemmas of people caught in struggles with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). Each portrait subject faces a unique struggle: some are incarcerated without charge for alleged links to terrorism, others have sought refuge from deportation in church sanctuary, others live in an indefinite limbo with no legal status and limited rights. All face deportation to places where they previously faced persecution. The portraits are accompanied by biographical texts and a sound montage of statements by the portrait subjects. Between States was completed with the help of Solidarity Across Borders, the Justice Coalition for Adil Charkaoui, the Justice for Mohamed Harkat Committee, Homes Not Bombs, and the NFB project Citizenshift. Between States first showed at Dazibao in Montreal in October and November, 2006.

Twice Removed is a visual examination of two important issues affecting Palestinian civilians in cities and villages across the West Bank and Gaza Strip: home demolitions and the mounting impact of the Israeli separation barrier. In 2004, this body of work was awarded the Prize for Contemporary Issues and the Heather Walker Memorial Scholarship for Humanitarian Work at Concordia University in Montreal. It toured through Eastern Canadian universities in the autumn of 2004.
